Mandy
I walked into the pet store, breathing in the smells of all the animals. I could hear puppies barking, kittens mewing, and little kids laughing at the animals. I smiled and browsed slowly through the aisles, looking around at everything. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but I always felt a need to walk into every pet store I saw. I heard a piercing whistle, and looked over to one corner of the store, where the birds were housed. I'd always loved birds, so I walked over there. A handsome cockatiel immediately caught my eye. He was a deep grey colour except for his bright yellow mask, and orange cheeks. I whislted to him, and he cocked his head, fluttering down from his perch to cling onto the wire of the cage nearer to me. "Hey, pretty boy," I said to him. The tiel chirped, making kissing noises. I laughed. Glancing down at the label on his cage, I noted sadly that he wasn't for sale. Then another sign caught my eye. Three chicks, all from one of his clutches. I grinned. I hadn't had a handraised baby for a while now. I peeped into the box and saw three fluffy baby cockatiels, all cheeping loudly for their next meal. I grinned and looked around for a store assistant, deciding to buy one of the babies.
